Where the brands agree and where they do not
Only Faction prints a row for a 6 ft 6 in skier: evo and K2 stop short of this height, so there is no second chart to compare against. Faction gives one range for every ability and asks beginners to read its lower end and fast or heavier skiers its upper end.
evo's chart ends at 6'4", so it has no row for 6'6". K2's chart runs from 4'8" to 6'4", so 6'6" is off its table. Faction lists heights in centimetres every 5; 198 cm falls between its 190 cm and 200 cm rows, which together give 180–204 cm, one range for all abilities.
Faction starts from a ski "around nose to eyebrow level height", then shortens it for beginners and lengthens it for fast, aggressive or off-piste skiing. At 198 cm that start point is well inside its 180–204 cm range.
Adjusting for terrain, weight and speed
The brands move the chart answer for how and where you ski. Applied to the intermediate window for a six-foot-six skier:
- Powder or freeride: K2 adds 2 to 5 cm, which turns 180–204 cm into about 182–209 cm.
- Park or groomers: K2 takes 2 to 5 cm off, about 175–202 cm.
- Heavier than average for six-foot-six: K2 adds 1 to 3 cm (181–207 cm); evo and Faction also say to go longer.
- Lighter than average: K2 takes 1 to 3 cm off (177–203 cm).
- Tip rocker: evo says a ski with significant tip rocker can be sized longer; K2 says more camber suggests shorter.
Either side of six-foot-six
Two inches shorter, a six-foot-four skier, the intermediate readings run 180–204 cm, sharing 190 cm. Between rows the answer only changes where a chart prints a new row, which is why some neighbouring heights read the same.
For a six-foot-six skier these are the brands' published starting points, not a fitting. A specific ski's own size run, your boots and a shop fitting decide the final length. Last checked 2026-10-20; see the methodology.
