About Gear Fit Atlas

Gear Fit Atlas is an independent reference that reads the brands' own published size charts for skis, snowboards, kayaks, paddleboards, bikes and backpacks, and puts them side by side. Every answer names the chart it came from, and where brands disagree the site shows the range instead of picking one.

How the site works

Each category reads the brands' own published size charts and specification sheets: ski, snowboard, kayak, paddleboard, bike and backpack makers, plus two kayak-capacity rules published by kayak makers. Every page names the chart its answer came from and the date it was read, and where brands disagree it shows the range rather than choosing one. The methodology page lists every source and everything left out.

The site sells nothing and takes no payment from the brands it quotes.

Corrections

If a figure is wrong or a source has changed, email hello@gearfitatlas.com with the page and a link. Corrections go into the data file and the check date updates with the next build.
